When an order is placed, the customer will first receive an order confirmation email from Shopify. Once the order is fulfilled by your warehouse, the package will be assigned a Passport Tracking ID and the customer will receive that tracking ID from Shopify as well. Within this tracking page, a customer can opt-in/subscribe to shipping updates. If the customer chooses to subscribe to get the updates, we will automatically update the customer, via the email address they chose, when the tracking information is updated throughout the package journey. This also applies to updates to let the customer know when the package is available for pickup, if the package is returned to sender, is stuck in customs, etc.
Due to federal regulations related to GDPR and the CAN-SPAM Act, we require all customers to opt-in to the email notifications and will not notify customer's unless they opt-in.
